The Arrival Part II

The Gaian snapped his head up to see the slave next to him was up. The slave was...a walking bear with brown hair and black eyes the beast was at least eight feet tall and as bulky as a football linebacker. "Yishda Oso, of the Yisuta Shogunate, a former soldier who was captured in the war for the Seno System which rightfully belongs to us" The Gaian managed to catch before he was called; Yishda was guided back to his original place while glancing at the Gaian.
Either in wonder, fear or anger.

The overweight man leaned and whispered into the Gaian's ear.
"Name."
"Michael Turner", the Gaian said, the man nodded. The man gave a short speech, only stating Michael's name before Michael was guided back to the line. As he was shoved back into line he noticed a podium in the wall with a large banner hanging over it. Inside were four men, two dressed in red armor, one in black armor and brought confusion to Michael, Deaths Knight, the leader of the Ragon, was standing next to a smaller man with ornamental clothing on.

Why is he here? Who is the guy next to him? Michael thought as the slaves were shackled again and forced to a gate with "Osta Manus Sleppa" on it in bold letters. The living quarters, Michael thought, must be the living quarters.

Where "The Pankration" is headed the next five years

Hey it’s me again, this time with a short overview on where “The Pankration” is headed the next five years.

Year One (aka 2015):
This year my goal is to finish the demo for you guys, and so that I have something to show for Crowdfunding and / or Publishers who might be interested.

Year Two (2016):
In 2016 I’ll turn 18, making me able to receive an income and founding a company (laws are a bit strange here in Germany, lots and lots of stuff you have to do to get your own company…), which means 2016 will most likely be the founding year of El Grande Games. This will also be the year I graduate, so I assume that I won’t have much time for development of “The Pankration”, but the time I have will go to optimizing and improving the Training Area.

Year Three (you can guess it… 2017):
I’ll be studying Economics and Law by then, which will be a great foundation for Crowdfunding, especially with an enhanced demo. If I get funded, some artists and other people I need will be hired, as well as I’ll buy some better hardware for development. This year *should* push the development of “The Pankration” quite a bit, which brings me to…

Year Four (2018):
ALPHA RELEASE! With some Programmers, 3D Artists and Voice Actors behind me, development should go fast, plus I’ll have the Training Area more than finished by then. The rest of the year will be network programming, finding servers and a lot of other stuff important for the full release of “The Pankration”.

Year Five (2019)
This year should include the full release of “The Pankration” with multiplayer mode, improved mechanics, and most important: NO BUGS.

I hope that nothing gets in the way, but I’m more than confident that this plan should work. The last two years were a mere waste of time, but that happens if you set your goals too high…

Hope to see you soon,
Tobias

The Arrival Part I

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door —
Only this, and nothing more."
Edgar Allan Poe.

A dropship, all white with a red and black sigil on it's doors and a all black cockpit, hovered over a landpad, it's rear facing a stone walkway with a yellow police tape like hologram, projected by white poles and a few soldiers was the only thing keeping a crowd of thousands out of the walkway. As vapor came out of the ramp the crowd stood anxious waiting for the recent quarry. Finally, the ramp lowered and two soldiers, in all white armor with red painted into their torso and shoulders, came out. Following them were a column of prisoners shackled together by a their feet and hands restrained by a strong black chain. They were all different shapes and sizes, from a eight feet tall brown haired Yisuta to a short but attractive Milirian, her hair cut short by the slavers, a dark red Fevori male with two small horns the list went and on. The crowd, while excited, cheers and woo's were crickets compared to the large boom of sudden screaming.
Out of the dropship came a being little in the crowd of the watching, a new race, a Gaian. He was brwon haired, with white skin and looked to be about thirty. He also was well built and stood about five feet tall six inches. Behind him were two soldiers flanking a studious looking man, in a red robe and wearing old fashioned glasses. The man, a priest of the Imperial Faith, waved before realizing that all the attention was not focused on him, but the Gaian. An odd turn of events.
Along the long stone pathway were more soldiers and hyper watchers surrounded by a seventy feet wall to prevent escape. The quarry and their guards stopped, the guards unshackling them enough to allow limited movement. The guards guided them to form a horizontal line shoulder to shoulder as one at a time they were called by a overweight man in flamboyant dress who then advertised the slave. The Gaian, scared to death by what in the hell the Ragon were planning to do with him and the others, looked at the ground not paying any attention to the others.
"Eyes up" The monotone voice came from one of the soldiers, a voice changer masking any personality or empathy.

To be continued...

El Grande Games Dev Blog v2.0

Hi,
we decided to start a new Dev Blog because, well we configured Google Adsense on this account and didn't want to change everything again. After the... irregular posting on the old blog we try to post a bit more regularly, at least one update a month, so we hope you check back on this blog more or less often and wish you a nice Christmas ;) .
